Olive Oil

The landscape of Laconia, blessed by nature for the production of high-quality olive oil, has well-drained soils, sunshine, mild winters, favourable winds and olive trees rooted deep and long in its earth.

The olives are hand-picked from the centuries-old olive groves that are organically cultivated in the lands of Maleas.

For MALEAS we have chosen to combine the well-known “Koroneiki” with the rarer, small-fruited, local “Athinoelia” variety.

Cold pressing at <27 °C is carried out the same day the olives are harvested.

The exceptional condition of the fruit at harvest and absolute control over the process of oil extraction guarantee acidities of less than 0.3%, making MALEAS one of the lowest-acidity organic olive oils available.

MALEAS is especially rich in vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) and in polyphenols that contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress.


Organoleptic character

MALEAS olive oil has a glowing golden-green colour and an aroma of olive leaves, herbs and wild grasses, with a rich, subtle taste. It has an exceptional balance and a lingering aftertaste.
